A Vision for Liberation

This program provides strategic leaders within EREA the opportunity to consider the challenges facing our communities and the world, and to discern ways our Identity and Mission guide our response, both locally and globally.

A Vision for Liberation calls us to take seriously the words of the prophet Isaiah, who reminds us of God’s vision of compassion, justice and peace that is at the heart of the Gospel.

Participants reflect on their own capacity to be prophetic voices in the world as they encounter contemporary responses, which have been inspired by Edmund Rice, to the needs of those made poor by our society.

Aims

Participation in A Vision for Liberation offers you:
• encounters with new ideas and approaches in leading a vision for liberation;
• time to discern your own leadership priorities;
• renewed capacity to articulate a vision of ecological, social-economic and spiritual hope, and
• opportunities for silence, prayer, mindfulness and reflective practice.

What participants have said:

“It made me question whether my decisions are passionate and bold enough!”
“I have now regained my focus and direction as a leader.”
“I am now more attentive to how I am present to my community as this quality of presence shapes people’s response to leadership.”
“It challenged me to share my own life experiences more openly, as a way to help others embrace my leadership priorities.”
