St Gabriel’s School for Students with Hearing Impairment and other Special Needs, Castle Hill, NSW, is registered and accredited as an independent primary school and as a Special School conducted by Edmund Rice Education Australia.

We endeavour to provide our growing student population of 76 with the opportunity to access and participate in the full range of educational opportunities available to their typically developing peers. In addition we offer intensive programs to develop the communication, literacy and social skills of our students, in the proud tradition begun by the Christian Brothers over 90 years ago.

In 2010 St Gabriel’s underwent significant changes which saw the closure of programs and services primarily concerned with Hearing Impairment and the widening of the enrolment criteria to include students with a wide range of disabilities. Community response to the changes has been very positive, with a significant demand for enrolment and a much higher local school profile and reputation.

St. Gabriel’s School recognises the traditional owners of the area, the Dharug People.
