Indooroopilly Montessori Children’s House is a state of the art purpose-built Long Day Care Centre located in Brisbane. Indooroopilly Montessori Children’s House caters for 165 children per day ranging from six weeks to school entry age. There are 10 fully equipped classrooms, specifically designed to facilitate the children’s independence and well as an extensive nature based playground.

Montessori is an education for life – a learning process where children are encouraged to develop at their own pace in a safe and caring environment. Between the ages of birth and six years, children have what Maria Montessori termed “an absorbent mind”…the ability to absorb life and the world around them. It is therefore a critical time for building solid foundations for living and learning into the future. .

At IMCH, we work to develop culturally literate children and to nurture their natural curiosity, creativity and intelligence. We are committed to creating a prepared environment designed to foster individual thinking and to encourage independence, thereby enabling all children to actively participate in their own learning process.

Our program promotes individual growth in the foundation areas of persistence, organisation, confidence, social interaction and spirituality, engendering the values of respect and patience. We place great emphasis on genuine community spirit, building rapport and strong relationships among the staff, parents, children and the wider community.

Indooroopilly Montessori Children’s House recognises the traditional owners of the area, the Turrbal and Jagera People.
