EREA is keen to promote and encourage leadership at all levels in schools, recognising that the future of Catholic schooling relies upon competent leaders who are committed to, and have a deep understanding of, the mission of Catholic education.
This exciting program is designed to identify, support and affirm young leaders in Edmund Rice schools and educational entities across Australia. Launched in 2008 with an inaugural Conference, the Emerging Leaders program looks to offer a range of workshop and networking opportunities to participants who seek to broaden their understanding of leadership in a contemporary Catholic educational context. The program examines the possibilities that leadership in Catholic education can offer young educators and also explores a range of professional and pastoral opportunities to strengthen the leadership capabilities of our future leaders.
In 2015 and 2016, the Directors of Regional Support in each of the regions are developing local programs for teachers identified by their Principals as possible leaders of the future. It is hoped this initiative will grow and develop over the next few years.
