Parade College Celebrates Mungo Man's Return

Parade College joined with their local Aboriginal Community to celebrate the return of Mungo Man to his traditional home at the sacred lands around Lake Mungo.

The school organised a liturgy, developed by EREA Board Member and Muthi Muthi Woman, Vicki Clarke, to commemorate this significant day.

Mungo Man lived around Lake Mungo over 42 000 years ago and his remains are Australia's oldest. They were removed from his burial site over 40 years ago and taken to Canberra.

The return of his remains to his original resting place are a major step forward for Reconciliation for Australia.
